The Core Strategy sets out our overall planning strategy, explaining our vision for the area and how it will be delivered. It will be the basis for all subsequent documents produced as part of the Local Development Framework (LDF). The strategy must be a document which addresses the needs of the District, and therefore has been produced in consultation with all those who have a stake in the future development of West Berkshire.
The Proposed Submission Core Strategy is the version that the Council intends to submit to the Secretary of State.

Stratfield Mortimer Parish Plan Refresh

The first Stratfield Mortimer Parish Plan was published in 2004. A Refresh Group was established earlier this year and the refresh was launched at a consultation event attended by over 200 residents in February 2009. The feedback from residents formed the basis for the Parish Plan Questionnaire which was distributed in early May 2009 in paper format to over 3,500 residents.
Young people have also been consulted at the consultation day plus work in the local Primary School. A youth questionnaire was drawn up by a focus group of young people with support from Community Action West Berkshire and the Steering Group. This was distributed through St. Mary's Primary School and The Willink during May 2009. |
